A pledge is a promise to donate a certain amount of money over a certain period of time (say monthly or quarterly or half yearly or yearly). The Pledge is a moral commitment to give, not a legal contract.It can also be called a recurring donation.
The National Trust Fundraising portal provides you with a facility to pledge for future donations. You can choose an amount of your choice to donate monthly or yearly as you wish. The system will send an automated email to remind you.
Pledges to donate helps an NGO to plan ahead. If they know their income going forward, they can create a budget and use your donations strategically.
